- All daySFHacks Code Jams 2024Apply for Code Jams! SF Hacks is hosting Code Jams! A month-long, mini-hackathon where SFSU (only) students can create their own project (software or hardware), present it, and potentially win a prize!!! (e.g. airfryer, monitor) The application and dev post link open on October 1st. This is a great opportunity to improve your teamwork, collaboration, and technical/soft skills. Note: All experience levels are welcome! When: October 1 - October 31 Code Jams Interest Form: https://tally.so/r/3x285y Follow our socials/resources to stay up to date: https://solo.to/sfhacks The Closing Ceremony, where students present their projects and winners are announced, will be on Friday, November 1 at 6 pm in the CS Lab (Creative Arts 128c). Tope Rope Clinic:Join us for our Top Rope Clinic, where you will learn the ins and outs of top rope climbing and belaying. The clinic covers how to belay as well as introduces safety checks and communication with your climbing partner before leaving the ground. A Top Rope Clinic should set you up for success to pass the Top Rope Assessment after practice to earn your blue belt qualification at our climbing wall. The clinic is open to climbers of all abilities from beginner (never climbed before) to advanced. Come learn how to climb with us! Lead Climbing Clinic:Join us for a Lead Climbing Clinic where you will learn how to lead climb and lead belay. The clinic goes over how to clip, how to position yourself when clipping, how to stack a rope, lead belaying with a grigri, additional climbing commands and much more. Upon completion and practice, climbers should be set up to pass our lead climbing assessment where you would earn your pink belt membership at our wall. Pink Belt membership allows you to lead climb. This clinic is designed for climbers who are already top rope qualified at our wall. Outdoor Climbing Focused Clinics: Intro to Outdoor Climbing Clinic: Join us for an Outdoor Climbing Focused Clinic, where climbers will learn the in's and outs from transitioning from indoor to outdoor climbing. Will be taught indoors at the Climbing Wall. Anchor Building Clinic:Join us to learn how to build outdoor climbing anchors. Will be taught indoors at the Climbing Wall. Rappel Clinic:Join us to learn how to rappel. Will be taught indoors at the Climbing Wall. Rescues Clinic:Join us to learn how to perform basic rescues while top roping.
