Boots Riley is an activist who infuses his art with his politics. He’s the frontman for the hip-hop group The Coup. A cinephile, Riley directed and wrote the screenplay for his debut 2018 feature film “Sorry to Bother You,” which won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature Film. - 4:00Meet our 2022 Alumni Hall of Fame inductees: SF SketchfestDavid Owen ('99), Cole Stratton ('00) and Janet Varney launched SF Sketchfest in 2001 to showcase fellow Bay Area comedy performers. Now in its 20th year, SF Sketchfest has grown into a nationally recognized, monthlong comedy festival showcasing some of the biggest names in comedy. Individually, they have had prolific careers in TV, film, podcasting and festival production.
