3:30 p.m. - "Alternatives to Incarceration" Tabling. Do you need an internship or curious about the jobs in reentry? Join us for a tabling event with anti-prison organizations before the screening. 3:30 p.m. - LUNCH is served while we enjoy the tabling. 5 p.m. - Transition into "The Strike". The Strike is a feature documentary that tells the story of a generation of California men who endured decades of solitary confinement and, against all odds, launched the largest hunger strike in U.S. history. 6:30 p.m. - Panel with survivors from the strike and filmmakers: Dolores Canales, Jack Morris, Richard Johnson and Lucas Guilkey (director).

Bringing People Home: Panel Discussion on CA Penal Code 1172.1 and Other Resentencing Statutes
Cost - Free, but please RSVP Email - adelatierra@sfsu.edu Californias recall and resentencing law has enabled the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and District Attorneys to refer people back to court to be resentenced and released. The law enabling this form of resentencing is now chaptered as Penal Code 1172.1. This event will bring together experts in the field to discuss resentencings background, outcomes, current needs and prospective futures.
