SFSU Gator Open – Internal Tennis Tournament
Apr 4, 2026 8:00 AM | Join us for the first annual SFSU Gator Open, the SFSU Tennis Club’s internal tournament and newest club tradition! 🐊🎾 This full-day event will bring together players of all levels for a fun, competitive, and community-driven tournament at the SFSU Tennis Courts. Events:• Singles (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)• Doubles (Open Division) All divisions are open to SFSU students, and players are encouraged to compete at the level that best matches their experience. Our goal is to guarantee at least two matches per participant, time permitting. Entry Fees:• $5 – One Event (Singles or Doubles)• $8 – Both Events All proceeds support tournament setup and future SFSU Tennis Club matches. Food, drinks, and snacks will be provided throughout the day. We will also have professional photography and media coverage capturing the event. Not playing? Come support your fellow Gators, enjoy the atmosphere, and be part of the first Gator Open! Match schedules and brackets will be shared with players prior to tournament day. Living in a coastal city, what goes down our drains is critical to keeping our ecosystems intact - free from forever chemicals, for example, that are found largely in cigarettes buds. Gator Giving Day raises nearly $200,000 for students, programs and clubs
More than 900 donors support SFSU’s second annual fundraiser San Francisco State University’s second annual Gator Giving Day delivered a strong showing, nearly doubling last year’s total and far surpassing its fundraising goal. During the 24-hour campaign on March 18, more than 920 supporters contributed $196,735 — exceeding the $110,000 goal by 78%. Funds will support student clubs, academic departments, programs and scholarships across the University. Alumni accounted for the largest share of donors (26%), followed by faculty and staff (22%), supporters of the University (20%), students (15%) and parents at (6%). Throughout the day, matching gifts and challenges encouraged participation and helped donors maximize their impact. Perfect Pair, a student organization that connects students with older adults in assisted living facilities, won a social media challenge that secured an additional $500.
