The History of Queer Advocacy and Language at SF State: A Path Forward to Fighting For LGBTQIA+ Rights

    Meredith Eliassen, a member of the SF State Safe Zone Ally Program and longtime Special Collections & Archives librarian, will give a presentation about aspects of LGBTQIA+ history on the SF State campus.She will delve into the history of advocacy on campus, primarily through the establishment of the first AIDS Coordinating Committee within the CSU system and its effect on how people think about advocacy today. The presentation will take place in the Special Collections Reading Room (LIB 460) on the fourth floor of the Library. At the end, participants can visit the AIDS Memorial Grove on campus together.All are welcome! This event is recommended for those who have attended Safe Zone training in the past AND for anyone interested in SF State history.  Please RSVP by emailing Rick Nizzardini, Safe Zone Committee member, to help the organizers estimate how many people will attend.Hosted by: J.
