Potential composers represented in the workshop may include Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Llyod Webber, Lynn Ahrens, Jerry Herman, Richard Adler, Stephen Schwartz, and Ben Pasek and Justin Paul.

Belgian conceptual comics artist Ilan Manouach is a leading innovator for outside-the-box comics. From provocative reworkings of beloved classics to his recent work developing synthetic AI comics, Manouachs thought-producing pieces push us to think about comics in new ways. Join us Wednesday, November 13, at 4:15, as he shares about one of his past innovations, Shapereader, a tactile comic, that uses tactile ideograms to invent new means of textual storytelling. The discussion of Shapereader will set the stage to better understand conceptual comics and their potential. They encourage student organization leaders and students or faculty traveling by air for the holidays to attend. This will be in LIB 121 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Ready, Set, Safety! (RSS) talks at the SF State campus are collaborative meetings led by the Risk and Safety Services Division. These talks are designed to better inform the community of risk mitigation programs in place at SF State. Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these discussions as they offer an open forum for anyone interested in learning more about a variety of topics of interest.
